I came to Notion because all the trial version of other score writers didn't convince me.

I started writing scores with the cheapest option, a free (and open source) product If you were referring to engraving, then great but if you were referring to the way NOTION 5 handles audio, then I strongly disagree. If they surpasses the others in the market, I will purchase theirs, because I am still searching for the ultimate Scoring Software that can boast excellent audio and engraving capabilities. I do, however, believe that Steinberg is working diligently on their new scoring software. This sucks! So I will compose and arrange my music in Notion, save to xml and engrave in Sibelius until such time Notion catches up with it's engraving abilities. Notion even plays EWQLSO faultlessly.īUT, then I discovered that Notion 5 engraving is far behind that of Sibelius. So the other day I heard of Notion 5 and discovered that it boasts a fantastic Audio Engine! So I purchased Notion 5 along with every available sound. I purchased EWQLSO with a soundset and to date cannot get Sibelius to play back properly. The only issue I have with Sibelius is it's Audio Engine. I had a million issues with Finale and eventually ditched it for Sibelius.

When Finale became a Windows version, I switched to Finale. I started out with Encore in the early 90's. Martinkutschker wrote.I'm curious, what do think Notion can do for you if you have already Sibelius und Finale? I choose Notion 4 because the budget versions of Sibelius and Finale are crippled (number of staves, measures, etc) and both of them don't have (had?) the nice integration of common budget symphonic samplers.
